Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring adults. These caring adults, also known as mentors, provide support, counsel, friendship and positive reinforcement to these young children. Mentors do not replace the roles of parents, teachers, guardians or disciplinarians. Instead, mentors reinforce the positive values set up by these individuals. A mentor cares for a child, reassuring them that someone will always be there for them. The bond created between mentor and child is one that is lasting. Support is given through education, day-to-day living and even the workplace.
Studies show children who have mentors are less likely to skip or drop out of school, less likely to do drugs or drink and may be more equipped at getting and keeping a job.

If you want to make a positive and lasting impact on a child's life and build a beautiful bond that is both rewarding for you and a young child, then please sign up to be a mentor today.
